Movie Plot/Storyline: Set in a world where mystical creatures live side by side with humans. A human cop is forced to work with an Orc to find a weapon everyone is prepared to kill for. In an alternate present, humans live in uneasy peace with orcs, elves, and other races after the Nine Races fought for thousands of years. In Los Angeles, veteran LAPD police officer Daryl Ward has been involuntarily partnered with Nick Jakoby, the nation’s first orkish police officer. Jakoby is ostracized by humans and orcs alike?by humans for his race, and by orcs for his position. In addition to the pushback from other officers, Ward is personally ambivalent towards him following an incident where Ward was shot and Jakoby apparently let the assailant get away. During a trip back to the station, an arrested man tells Jakoby (in Orkish) that both officers have become involved in a prophecy and that Ward is blessed. While Jakoby is booking the prisoner, Ward is approached by Internal Affairs who say they believe that Jakoby put his ethnic loyalties before his partner. Ward, faced with significant personal financial burdens, is then pressured to agree to getting his partner to confess on tape so they will have publicly acceptable grounds to fire Jakoby.
